Assessment & Feedback

Each child will begin their course with an assessment which will tell us what level they are working at, areas of weakness and strength and what teaching strategy will best suit the child. Once this has been established we will begin teaching straight away.

Each child will be placed in a maximum of a group of 4 to 1 tutor. Although they are placed in a group according to their stream line they are taught, motivated and assessed individually. Our initial priority with every child is that we have covered and brought them up to par with the National Curriculum. Once this is achieved we will extend beyond the National Curriculum and focus on the next level/exam.

Every child will be set homework every lesson, all work will be marked and returned the following lesson. Each lesson will begin with a mental maths test, spelling test and a grammar test.

Every four weeks there will be an assessment; this is to ensure that the child is learning and understanding everything that has been taught to them, and also to see if we have applied the right teaching strategy for this child. If for any reason the child has not achieved the pass mark in the assessment for two consequent months then we will review our teaching strategies and also the Child's progress report.

The progress report will be logged after each and every lesson, in which every piece of work and grade achieved, homework and grade achieved, daily test results, assessment results, punctuality, attendance, and whether they brought all their stationery and books to lesson will be recorded.

There will also be many trips and outdoor courses available for children to participate in which will give children the tools to aspire and encourage them into a way of life that we want for them.
