From a young age, English was always my weakest subject. I really struggled with story/essay writing and simple comprehension exercises which not only affected my work in English, but many of my other subjects too. By the time I was in Year 9 (aged 14), I was working at a level 4 in English which is the level average for an 11 year old and with my GCSE exams coming up, this had to change. I started at Tutorial Ltd in the autumn of 2011 and instantly Kavitha was able to see what my problem was. She taught me how to plan and structure my work and gave me tips on how to dissect and answer questions to ensure my work was of the best quality. Within weeks, there was a clear improvement in my work. I went from below average to achieving A’s and A*’s in my coursework assignments and an A overall in both my English Language and Literature GCSE exams; all in the space of 1 and a half years. Now 5 years after I first started, I’m in my first year of a Biomedical Sciences degree course and a member of staff at Tutorial Ltd! I am so grateful for all the things Tutorial Ltd have done for me and I definitely recommend as the place to be when it comes to tuition.

Whenever you apply for a job these days, they are always looking for previous work experience. I mean how are you supposed to get this work experience in the first place if no one is willing to give you a chance? Anyway, rant over! This is where Tutorial and Kavitha come in and gave me my first job which is something i'll be forever be grateful for. I started working for Tutorial near the end on 2013 in my final year of Sixth Form. I remember feeling very nervous, being a particularly shy character. However since then, not only have I grown as an individual but I have also has the privellege to help and see students grow which is truly a unique feeling. The friendly and family atmosphere I felt when I joined was warming and a great foundation to help myself gain confidence and develop a number of skills such as communication, teaching, public speaking and teamwork just to mention a few. I am now a Computer Science student at The University of Warwick, and I can undoubtedly say that the attributes I gained at Tutorial massively helped my transition to unversity life. Not only did I work as a Tutor here at Tutorial, but Kavitha also allowed me to work with my passion in design helping me build the start of my portfolio. I design a lot of Tutorials promotional material, including flyers, banners posters but most notably a billboard, an advert and this very website! I thank Tutorial for all the help it has given me and strongly recommend it as a place to learn and a place to work.
